Great film! Interesting spin that it was the old gal & not her husband that was corrupted by the power. Think my favourite element tho was the shop name – “the Glory Hole!”

Hi Geoff – i luved this movie & am now a real Fulci fan! Another ambiguous ending which i’ve noticed has created much speculation online amongst fans. I would be interested to hear your take on it – obviously a scream seems to sugggest it didn’t end well!! Helen

Thanks for the comment. The best thing about horror is that we all have our favourite guilty pleasures. Each to their own. Killer Kane is brilliant in this one and the films real selling point.

The idea for this project was to watch a huge bunch of films to catch up on old, new, revisit and find something fresh: It was never about watching films that I think are great. But man, that Nickleback insult is just cruel!

Wow. Geoff. I have NO clue which movie you were watching but it was Definately NOT Friday the 13th part 7, Maybe you were watching Jason Goes to Hell, Cause than that would make sense.
“After the Fantastic Jason Lives you were let down by this Rubbish” Fist off Jason lives was okay! Nothing too special there, just a modern re-telling of the Frankenstien story. as of this year I am 33 years old and The New Blood is BY FAR my favorite of the series, Not “The Best” But my favorite. The story and script are great the acting is Above decent for a Seventh installment in a series, The Special effects, Directing, Atmosphere, look of the film, music, look of jason and actor who played Jason are the best of the entire Friday the 13th franchise.
After seeing complete pieces of trash with ZERO redeeming value like Jason goes to hell, Jason X, And Jason VS Freddy, You ask why anyone would think this would make a good film ??? You must be high, Part 7 is the last “Great” entry in the series and the last “Real” Friday the 13th film.
So in closing maybe you should go and review movies that you think are great like the Saw series and Hostel 1 and 2. You probably listen to Nickleback as well!

Hi. Glad you watched this one. It’s a real rarity, a hidden gem. I totally agree with you here too. It’s difficult to watch at times, made on such a low budget but what a great film! Merry Christmas!

Hi Geoff – thought i’d choose a festive title! It did take me awhile to get used to the style of shooting and how ancient it looked (plus i think the my copy was pretty bad quality)i really got into it & these elements added to the overall effect! I was particularly impressed by end asylum scenes – the use of shadows that completely hid the inmates faces fascinated me! Merry Christmas

Hi Helen,

Sorry, I didn’t realise you were talking about the Madamoiselle bit at the end. I guess, she gets told all about the pleasures of the afterlife and that only those who are good will be getting in, that her vicious, evil research won’t get her past those pearly gates, which is why she looks a bit cheesed off. Keep Doubting would be the advice to the rest of the society, as if they knew what she knew, they’d all be pulling their own triggers…. Possibly…. Or maybe it’s her own realisation that she’s gonna be heading South, and accepts her fate and might as well get there sooner rather than later; suicide shipping an instant passport to the depths. .

Hey Geoff – thought this film was great even though it did leave me with many questions and like you the mad rocker seemed abit of a strange tangent! Couldn’t decide if there was a logical explanation for the why history didn’t repeat itself right at the end or if there just weren’t any clear answers. (I still hav none the wiser about ‘the bat’ either):-) x
