There were a few nice touches to this one, in particular the android and the hologram sequence spoofing the conventions of the genre. But the rest had such a tired, cheap feel to it all, including the sets and writing. The 25th Cedntury people act as cliched and stupid as their 20th Century counterparts, and the spaceship might as well be a factory or sailing ship or any other terrestrial environment.
AS much as I wanted to really enjoy this one, it simply proved that, like Leprechaun and Hellraiser before it, moving a horror icon into space signals the death of a franchise. However, unlike the others Jason did redeem himself with his subsequent clash with Freddy.

Excellent review, Geoff, pretty much summed up what I’d felt about this one. I saw this in the theatre when it first came out, had high hopes for it, but had them dashed fairly quickly (Jason didn’t even get to New York until the last twenty minutes of the movie!). And since when did Crystal Lake, which I assumed to be somewhere deep in New York State or New Jersey, suddenly have access to the ocean? Access enough to let a small ocean liner in and out?

Awful by the numbers sequel, but I can’t condemn out completely, because at the time I had a major league crush on Tamara Stafford, the actress who played the blind chick Cassandra, and I’m sorry she didn’t do more movies.
At least Craven has since disowned the movie and said he did it simply for the money. Tough to condemn such honesty.

Thanks, man I appreciate the support.

Just a little news – I have a meeting for a (larger – in name only) possible sequel to “Spring Break”. Fingers crossed. This would be killer – and we’d shoot in the Miami Beach area I’ll let you know how it goes.

Oh – and if you’re going to check out anything else I’ve done – I would definitely make it “ROT: REUNION OF TERROR”. I know it’s love it/hate it – but was my tribute to stuff like “Offerings”; “Don’t go the Woods”; “Prom Night” and obscure 80’s slashers. Tried to pace it just like a film from that era – so it’s probably out of date by today’s standards.

Hey – found your review (in the midst of all the BS torrent sites) doing a Google search. I directed this (rather quickly) – and wanted to say thanks so much for finding it and supporting us!!!!

Thanks for checkin out the site. The film has a bug plus from me, but it’s not really for everyone. Unlike most films of this style, it doesnt carry too many laughs, but that’s what appealed to me. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it thoug and it’s good to support these smaller films.

My B/F is a BIG fan of the Sorority House and Slumber Party Massacre movies (plus Troma) – so I’m assuming he’ll like this one?

Our player’s unlocked – so we’re thinking of making a purchase. Wish more of these smaller movies would get a release here. What’s up?

Hehe. I can’t really disagree with you really. Yes, WR1 was more serious and yes, WT2 is more trashy. The gore is bigger and better, but the makeup on the Inbreds is a bit crap. Dushku would have made all the difference, but it thought Leerhsen was pretty good.
