Lord of Tears – Update

by on Mar.23, 2013, under Other Musings

A few weeks ago I posted a piece on the new British Indy flick, Lord of Tear. This is gonna be a great film so i’ve decided to add a follow up piece to support the post production.

Lord Of Tears MB-8The first goal on Kickstarter was reached, now they are aiming at their second phase which is £10k ($15k) so if you like the film, pre-order now! Mainly because the film may not be available through traditional distro until next year, and basically all the funds are fed back into the movie direct to source. Support our Independent Film Makers!

Good news to date, Lord of Tears has been accepted into the San Diego Comic Fest to be screened in October. Wooop! As mentioned above, it’s now available to pre order via Kickstarter here. The film has been getting some positive viral tweeting from the likes of Jim Parrack (True Blood), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, From Beyond), Elizabeth Fies (The Commune) and Signe Olynyk (Below Zero). Lord of Tears now has the Highness Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki who has became an Executive Producer for the film.

So, what are you waiting for? Click here now and pre-order Lord of Tears

I’m Dead – Francesco Picone

by on Mar.23, 2013, under Other Musings

Here’s a little bit of grisliness for a Saturday morning. Francesco Picone’s ‘I’m Dead’ (Io Sono Morta). Its a tale of death, torture and revenge and above all, Love. Picone has a great visual style, knows how to shoot a film which looks nice and works well. This is near perfect and right up there with feature length films in the same genre of gorenography as far as gruesome content, pace and watchability is concerned. Picone adds a nice twist too which adds real value to the short which would otherwise be a well produced film about a girl that’s dead from the off. Check it out below, and take a look at the ‘I’m Dead’ Facebook page too.

Francesco Picone is currently working on his next short, ‘Anger of the Dead’ a post apocalyptic future where the cities belong to the dead, with an impresive cast, Alex Lucchesi (Eaters), Serena Bilanceri (The Labyrinth), Federico Mariotti (matrimoni e altri disastri), Alessio Cherubini (My Lai Four) and Beatrice Baldaccini (Shrek the Musical).

The crew include make-up artist Carlo Diamantini (Zombie Massacre), and visual effects supervisor Alessio Barzocchini (Virtual Zone), produced by Picone’s cultural association SMALLMOVIE, and assistant producer, Simone Lagi. I’ll be following the progress of Anger of the Dead, but you can check it out yourself, again on it’s dedicated Facebook page.
