Kill Theory

by on Apr.06, 2010, under Daily Review

I’ve seen some poor films in my time, but nothing could prepare me for this. Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the teen slasher flick, Kill Theory lands on your screen, a film bland enough to put you off the genre all together.

This is an over obvious, run of the mill slasher. A bunch of college kids in a country chalet with a crazed psycho out for blood. Armed with a poor script, a splash of stage school and a TV director, the young cast do their best to avoid death and dodge every sharp instrument which could put a solid end to their film career forever. Fortunately for us, they all succeed in ending their careers and we can all go on with our lives, preying that one day we might get revenge for the theft of 82 minutes.

I’m not about to waste any further time on this one. Needless to say, it’s an insult to what has gone before and the brilliance which has matured from the likes of Friday 13th and the Burning. Scream and I Know What you Did gave fresh blood to the field whilst Hatchet is a perfect example of how to create a classic original slasher. Kill Theory is drab

The eAfter Dark Horrorfest is one of the better things to happen for horror in the states as they get a wide release of all the films in theaters for several weeks – which none of the films could hope for own their own.

Some real gems since the inception back in 06, this film is obviously excluded from the list. 🙂

I think this was included to appeal to the popcorn crowd as it stands out from the rest as a real no brainer.
