Philippe Mora returns to direct a 3rd in the series and manages to shoot a film even worse than the 2nd. How he got funding for this is anyone’s guess. Set in Australia, a rare bread of super werewolf is found, complete with a pouch (kangaroo style). When Jerboa (Imogen Annesley) runs away from home, from her foster wolf family living like Neolithic barbarians, she escapes to the big city of Sydney. It’s not long before she’s picked up to star in a werewolf horror movie directed by Frank Thing (Pilate in Ben Hur). There’s a team of werewolf Nuns tracking her down, as well as a Prof Harry Beckmeyer (Barry Otto), a scientist working for the Americans.
The film is awful. Otto and Annesley are both great, but it’s a challenge to get through the 90 mins. Played mainly for laughs, I really didn’t find it funny. With a scrip with dialogue such as ’I’ve got a weird feeling’. ‘Indigestion?’ ‘No… fear!’ Jerboa’s furry belly and pouch is all a bit odd and distracting too. The birth scene is really extraordinary, especially with the baby werewolf wriggling about like a mole. Most of the wolf effects are not the greatest. Transformations are quite crap, but the finished wolves are not too bad, again, men in suits, which is excusable for the budget. Plot and script are criminal. But it’s worth sitting through the pain for the final scene with Barry Humphries.
