2010! To start the New Year off, lets get rid of a few old Demons:-
- Demons 2
- Demons 3 (Black Demons)
- Demons 3 (The Ogre)
- Demons 4 (The Sect)
- Demons 5 (The Devil’s Veil)
- Demons 6 (De Profundis)
I must add, that even though these films are titles as a series, many have absolutely nothing to do with each other. It’s what the Italians are good at, pretending there is a sequel, when really it’s just a rebranded old TV movie. We have some fine looking films here though.
Also, i’ll squeeze The Church into next weeks schedule, as it easily has more credence to the title of Demons 3. (Yes, another one!)
They charge and arm and a leg!
From Fred Olen Ray, creator of cheap flicks, with cheap actors and cheaper effects. Trashy beyond belief but one of the finest B-movies to come out of the Hollywood straight to video scene of the late 80’s. The film involves a ‘cult of the chainsaw’ who requires sacrificial offerings. Hookers pick up saps, lair them and hack ‘em up. It’s a classic simple plot, one I’m sure based purely on the idea of a semi naked Linnea Quigley swinging two chainsaws, high concept, Don Simpson style. Add Gunnar Hansen (Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface) into the equation and you’ve got an instant cult hit.
Michelle Bauer has some memorable scenes, the main one being the slaying of a punter to the sounds of Elvis in front of a huge poster of the King (Protected with a sheet of clear polythene) Blood, body parts and various other things are thrown at her as she revels in the moment, swinging her chainsaw. Quigley’s dance of the double chainsaw is also a highlight. Crazy enjoyable film.
