Crazy French vampire hunting, demon crushing, odd-ball movie. Mallory roams the land with her colourful team of vigilantes in a pink hearse. This film has everything. Exploding nuns, kung fu, latex body suits, machinegun shoes, talking possessed bats and an outrageous storyline surrounding a controversial anti pope/vampire demon taking over the land and only Mallory et al can save us.
It looks very nice for most of the film, and is actually quite good and a very light hearted horror which makes a change in this time of gorenography and over clever plots. The film moves along quickly using all sorts of shocking cartoon like images. Shocking in the sense of very anti religious, but this goes with the territory and is to be expected. It’s more bad taste than anything else. If you want Oscars and cleverness, you won’t find it here. What we have is 88 mins of fast fun. A Besson/Guiltier esque buffy type thing, ideal for a lazy night of beer and pizza.
My only regret, is not sourcing a French language version as the English dub is annoying.
